Percy Park Panthers 19 - 33 Blaydon Redkites
Sunday 17th March 2024 saw The Panthers take on Blaydon Redkites 2nd team at Whitley Bay Rockcliff.
With a fire in their belly and the league title in their sights Percy Park Panthers were ready to face off in a epic battle to secure the League. Unfortunately, this was not to be.
The first try coming from Blaydon saw The Panthers quickly responding with a Try from our Captain S. Gicquel. Converted by D. Hepples. With tries coming quickly from both teams. C.Beaumont and P.Wood added to the score board for the Panthers with P.wood converting 1 saw the Final score 19 – 33 to Blaydon Redkites.
With the team clearly disappointed by a hard fought loss, this quickly turned to smiles and laughter with the coaching team reminding each and every player who put on a shirt that day to be immensely proud of the rugby that they played. With dignity and heads held high The Panthers have nothing to be disappointed about.
The coaching team are incredibly proud of the team that has finished the league this season, With the sense of a true family bond, supporting each other and every single player having a voice. It is only the beginning for them, and we will see next season how far the Panthers will go on and off the field.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank The Club for their unwavering support and commitment to the Panthers and Panther Cubs of the future. We are going to see great things for Women & Girls rugby at Percy Park. Watch this space.
Lastly but not least, thank you to our supporters and Volunteers. Gemma Milbanke for upping our game on social media, Alice Smith for her amazing photography skills and
Demi-Leigh Milbanke for her outstanding weekly match reports. We could not of finished this season without you all.
