Setting Up A Twitter Account To Follow Percy Park
This will enable you to receive the latest scores via text. This service is free apart from the initial text you use to register your mobile. You will only receive texts relating to scores and important news from us.
- Open your internet and go to https://twitter.com/signup
- Fill out the form. The username is the hardest as most are taken so think of either something quirky or a name and number but make sure your remember it.
- Un-tick let others find me.
- Un-tick ‘I want the inside scoop’
- Click on 'Create My Account'
Are you human (This is the hardest bit. This took me a few attempts to get some words I could read. Be careful as the words are usually misspelt. This is to stop automatic sign up programmes signing up to Twitter. )
If you can’t read the words, click on get two new words.
- Enter the two words in the box, not forgetting the space
- Then click on Finish
- Click on the 'Maybe Later' text.
- Click on the ‘Next Step’ a few times until you reach your Twitter homepage. Stay on that page for now.
- You will shortly receive an email where you have to click on the link to confirm your account.
To Register Your Mobile
- On your Twitter homepage click on ‘Settings’ in the menu at the top of the page.
- Then click on mobile
- Choose your country/ region (UK)
- Enter your mobile number omitting the zero at the beginning. (For example if your mobile number is 07777777777 you would enter 7777777777)
- Un-tick ‘Let others find me by my phone number’
- The carrier bit is not to important. Mines T-Mobile which isn’t listed so I used Vodafone.
- Continue to the next page and then you have to use the mobile phone to text the word ‘go’ to 86444.
- You phone will verify and then you can select what hours you do not receive any text updates.
- Next whilst still logged in to your new Twitter page go to http://twitter.com/percyparkrfc
- Click on Follow+ at top of page which then changes to Following, then click on the little mobile phone icon next to ‘Following’ to turn it green.
You are now following Percy Park RFC and will receive Half Time and Full Time score updates via text from the 1st team game and the Final score from the Academy game. Depending on time we may also do latest score updates during the match.
