The above is a photograph I missed in the previous report regarding the County Cup successes of our junior sides at Tynedale on Sunday last.
The U13 lads with the Northumberland County Plate Cup after their thrilling 40-30 victory over Alnwick.

A Glorious day at Tynedale on Sunday as the Corbridge club hosted a day of age-grade Northumberland County Cup finals with Percy Park involved in three of them. A beautiful sunny day (albeit windy) began with an early 9.45 am start for the U16 Boys who took on Gosforth, winning a great game 27-7 to lift the Northumberland County U16 Plate Final. They were followed at 12 noon by the U13 Boys who played Alnwick in the final of the U13 Plate Final winning a high scoring and thoroughly entertaining game 40-30. At 1 pm, the U 14 Boys played Northern in the U14 Plate Final but this proved just a bridge to far, the Newcastle side winning comfortably 12-62.
Congratulations to our three teams for their success and our grateful thanks to the players, coaches, parents and supporters who made it possible.
Our thanks also to Tynedale RFC, their staff and volunteers who hosted a fantastic day of rugby on behalf of the County.
Our first Silverware of the season!
On Saturday, 26 April 2025, Percy Park RFC host the England vs Scotland, U19 Men's International fixture.
Ticketing Information is as follows:
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased at the gate on the day.
Percy Park members can purchase tickets at £5 but they must be purchased prior to the game from the clubhouse. This discount will NOT apply if members arrive at the gate on the day without a pre purchased ticket - entry will be £10.
Tickets for non club members can only be purchased at the gate on the day at £10
Please note, all pre purchased £5 tickets must be for club members only, NOT for non member friends/family - a sales record will be kept and honesty will be appreciated.
It is probably football that takes centre stage this weekend with Newcastle Utd contesting the League Cup Final on Sunday, 16 March, KO 4.30 pm. So, Toon fans (and there are a few of you!), get down to your favourite rugby club and show your support to your favourite football team!
However, there is some rugby at Preston Avenue this weekend with the Lions taking on Ashington, KO 3 pm. Both the 1st XV and the Panthers have a rest weekend.
The League Cup Final, the Premier League and, of course, the final weekend of the 6 Nations Championship mean that the Clubhouse screens will be showing a full programme of sport:

On Saturday, the 1st XV travel to Yorkshire to take on Cleckheaton in Regional 1 North East, KO 3pm. With only three games left of the regular league season and Park second bottom in the relegation places, a victory would be welcome, especially given the disappointment of the home defeat by Blaydon last weekend. ALL SUPPORT FOR THE LADS WOULD BE MOST WELCOME.
However, if you are unable to travel or prefer your rugby a little closer to home, the Panthers take on our close neighbours Rockcliff at Preston Avenue on Saturday in NC 3 North (North), hoping to continue their push for promotion. KO is 2pm. The match will also support International Women’s Day so expect a lively clubhouse post-match. The Lions are also at home this weekend when they take on Billingham on Saturday, KO is 3pm. Again, all support would be most welcome.
On Sunday, The Club host the Colts County Plate Final, Rockcliff vs Novocastrians, KO 2pm. It should be a great game.
