PERCY PARK 20 – 0 ILKLEY
In one of only two games to survive the weather in league North 1 East, Park ran out winners against a tenacious Ilkley who never stopped competing throughout, despite spending a good deal of the game with only 14 players on the pitch.
For the first quarter of an hour it was fairly obvious that neither side had be able to play any rugby for the last month due to the snow and sub zero temperatures which have swept the whole country. Park broke the deadlock with a Thomas Turnbull try and from then on in always looked likely winners.

Well it looks as though Frosty the Snowman lives to fight another day as all games are cancelled this week due to the winter whiteout experienced all over the country. The Gateshead game which should have been played on 19th December 2009 has been moved to the 6th February which means the Northumberland Senior Cup game away to Wallsend will have to be postponed.
Martin Shaw has been named in the side to face bottom of the table Ilkley at Preston Avenue on Saturday. Shawsy last played in the corresponding fixture at Ilkley back in October and has been out of action since, due to a potentially career threatening eye injury sustained in the dying minutes of that game which Park won 39 - 12.
